Just before Easter, businesswoman Charlotte Wretlind is found brutally murdered in her suite at Copperhill Mountain Lodge in Åre. Panic spreads in the area, and Daniel Lindskog and his colleague Hanna Ahlander immediately take on the case. It turns out that the victim has connections to Storlien’s famous high-mountain hotel, a long-standing but run-down ski resort that has lost its former glory for many years.

Daniel has started going to therapy to deal with the anger that causes it in his relationships. Hanna tries in vain to keep track of her emotional life. Together, they are led into a winding investigation bordered by broken relationships, brutal conflicts, and painful childhood memories.
